Can I buy directly from Century Industries, Inc.?

No. Century Industries currently does not sell products directly to our customers. We can provide add-on accessory and installation kits for both our specialty windows and folding attic stairways. Click here to view a list of distributors who offer our products.

What are your lead times on specialty window orders ?

Most specialty window orders arrive to our distributors within 10-14 days from placement of order with our company. We do offer several glass add-on options such as Low E, Obscure, Tempered and Solar Bronze. Because we do not stock these options for all glass designs offered, depending on the window model you select it could increase the order lead time up to 45 days.

What is your warranty policy on your specialty windows?

Century Specialty Windows warrants to the first homeowner wherein its specialty window product may be installed that the window will be free from any material defect in parts, components and workmanship for one year following the date of the acquisition of that product. Insulated glass carry a 10 year warranty against seal failure. Click here to view our full warranty policy.

What operating hardware comes on venting model windows?

All clear glass and Clearlite octagon venting windows come standard with our Elbow Arm secure locking hardware. Our Roto Operator hardware option is available for an additional charge.

 

All Elongated, GBG and decorative pattern glass venting windows come standard with our Roto Operator hardware.

What are Prefinished Poly Clad frames constructed of?

Prefinished Poly Clad frames feature an energy efficient high density polyurethane exterior on both sash and frame with a barewood interior for staining or painting to match the decor of the room.

Are Prefinished Poly Clad windows available in an all poly frame?

No, we do not offer an all poly Prefinished Poly Clad frame.

Are Museum windows available Prefinished?

No, our Museum windows are only available with a factory primed frame that can be painted or stained.

Do you offer custom size windows?

No, we currently do not offer custom size windows. Please refer to our Specification page for window measurement sizes.

Do you offer custom glass designs?

No, we currently do not offer custom glass designs.

Do your offer replacement parts?

Yes, replacement parts are available to order from any of our distributors. IMPORTANT: Replacement parts for Century Specialty Windows ARE NOT compatible with those of other manufacturers. If you are not sure of the make and model of your current window, please give us a call BEFORE you order. We can help you determine the manufacturer and provide additional contact information for you if necessary.

Are your parts compatible with other manufacturers?

As a rule, no. The hardware for most stairway manufacturers is specific to their products and will not work correctly on other manufacturer's units.

What is the difference between the Supreme, Premium and Windsor units?

Supremes are the Aluminum, 350 pound rated units.

Premiums are the 1 x 6 wood, 350 pound rated stairs.

Windsors are the 1 x 4 wood, 250 pound rated stairs.

Is there a quality difference between the wood and the aluminum units?

There is no difference in the durability or weight bearing capacity between the Supreme Aluminum and the premium wood models. However, the aluminum units are lighter units weight-wise than the 1x6 wood and are somewhat easier to fold/unfold for some people.

Can the spring tension be adjusted?

Yes. Using our Red-nut J-bolt technology, adjusting the spring tension can be done safely and easily using and adjustable wrench (or a 7/16" wrench) while the stairway is in the open position. Simply place the wrench on the Red-nut of the J-bolt and turn clockwise to tighten (increase tension) or counter-clockwise to loosen (decrese tension).

What does the abbreviation "FTSWB" stand for?

FTSWB is the abbreviation used to signify the efficiency bundle that includes a Fire Retardant Plywood Door Panel, Thermo Shield insulation board, and Four-Sided factory installed Weather Stripping.Click here to view a list of distributors who offer our products.

Do you offer replacement parts for your attic stairways?

Yes.Century Industries does sell replacement parts directly to our customers, and they can be purchased from one of our distributors. IMPORTANT: Replacement parts for Century Attic Stairways ARE NOT compatible with those of other manufacturers. If you are not sure of the make and model of your current stairway, please give us a call BEFORE you order.
